This isn’t a hit piece. Iconosquare has been doing social analytics since 2011, it’s genuinely good at the job, and if you’re running five client accounts and owe somebody a white-label PDF every Monday, you should probably just buy it. The real question is what job you’re hiring a tool to do.
What Iconosquare does well
Iconosquare is a professional reporting suite. It pulls reach, engagement, follower growth and posting activity across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, X and Pinterest, tracks competitors next to your own profiles, benchmarks you against your industry, and packages the lot into scheduled reports a client can read without calling you. Publishing calendar, hashtag tracking, shared inbox on the higher plans. It’s a lot of tool.
As of July 2026, listed pricing starts at €33 a month for Launch, which covers 5 social profiles, one user and a one-year data window. The plan most teams actually want is Scale at €69 a month, since that’s where competitor tracking and campaign reporting live. White-label reports sit in the Excel plan at roughly €116 a month billed yearly. There’s a 14-day trial and a small free tier.
For an agency, none of that is optional. It’s table stakes, done properly.
What it will never tell you
Everything Iconosquare shows you describes an outcome. This post reached 12,400 accounts. Saves dipped last month. Your follower curve bent in March. All true, all useful for a report, and none of it answers the question that decides your next post: what was it about the winners that made them win?
Iconosquare never looks at the pixels. It doesn’t know that one of your photos has a face in it and another doesn’t, that your top three reels all open with a hand entering the frame, or that your palette drifted warm to cool the same month your saves fell off. The content itself, the part you actually control, is invisible to it.
What Highviz reads instead
Highviz begins where the counting ends. It reads every post and reel: the dominant colours, whether a face shows up and where, the objects in frame, any text on the image, and the way each reel opens in its first second. Then it ties each of those to your own engagement history and reports the gaps that are really there, one confidence label per finding.
A finding lands as a sentence you can act on: posts that lead with a face pull more saves than your usual, high confidence, so lead with a face. Stack up enough of those and you’ve got a recipe for your account. Before the next post goes out, you score the draft against that recipe. And when a number looks strange, you ask in plain words and get an answer tied to your data, not a guess.
The pricing math
Iconosquare’s a subscription, and a fair one for agencies who bill the cost onward. Highviz runs the other way: a one-time pack from $14 to $99, sized to your account, reads your whole content history, and the findings are yours to keep. Pro at $14 a month is optional, and only earns its place if you want daily refresh, new posts analysed automatically, and the question box. Spend $59 once and you can simply stop.
Pick one, or run both
- Buy Iconosquare if you report to clients, need white-label exports, or you’re juggling a portfolio of profiles across six networks.
- Buy Highviz if you’re the creator, the thing keeping you up is what to post next, and you’d rather pay once than subscribe.
- Run both if you’re an agency: Iconosquare for the Monday report, Highviz for the part where you tell the client what to actually make. That strategy paragraph writes itself once you have the findings.
Iconosquare tells you how your content performed. Highviz tells you why, and what to make next. If reporting is your bottleneck, buy Iconosquare. If the bottleneck is deciding what to post, that’s the whole reason Highviz exists.
